Technical seminar to be held at: Arup,6th floor, 3 Piccadilly Place, Manchester, M1 3BN on Thursday 8th of February 6.00pm to 7.00pm. Light refreshments provided from 5.30pm.

With the new focus on lighting design in the BIM world, it is necessary to have more efficient tools to work with. BIM files are big and normally contain complete buildings. To run high performance designs and to optimize lighting layouts in high speed, fast calculation tools are necessary. In this presentation we will give an overview of the workflow using existing BIM files and performing high speed calculations with accurate results. The Building Smart strategy will be explained and the integration of the lighting designer in the digital design 4.0 showcased. See how to import and export BIM files without expensive CAD software. Integrate your engineering work smooth and directly into the BIM world. The design process without BIM is still in use. In fact, the majority of designs are still made without BIM files. See how the design based on JPGs or PDFs can be performed. A brief insight into what you can expect and what is in the pipeline.
